Our Culture
A heartfelt conversation about our most important asset, our employees, between Jim Brush and Brian Reed.
One of the important attributes that sets a service company apart from its competitors is the culture of the organization upon which all actions are executed. At Summit State Bank, our employees deliver on our mission to provide superior service and solutions for our customers and continuously support and enrich the communities in which we serve. We hire and invest in knowledgeable and engaged employees who are empowered to deliver the company’s mission.
Our road map for success is clearly spelled out in The Summit Way – Service Standards. The overarching theme is based on common courtesy, respect, collaboration and keeping your word. However, the concluding principle…have fun while you’re at it, is probably the last attribute you would expect from a historically conservative business. The Bank offers a variety of platforms to support our employees’ efforts to give back to the community and include our Summit Day of Service. Employees receive a paid day off to give back to an organization of their choosing. We also encourage, especially bank officers, to provide their expertise to local nonprofits. Currently, we support the United Way of the Wine Country, Burbank Housing, Canine Companions for Independence, Giant Steps, Healdsburg Education Foundation, Free to Be and the 4Cs to name a few. The culture at Summit State Bank feels like family, where everyone cares about their peers, customers, and community. Our customers and visitors feel the sense of community upon entering the doors, at any of our five Sonoma County branch locations.
The Bank has been rewarded for its efforts by having our employees vote us as one of the Best Places to Work, by the North Bay Business Journal, for 10 consecutive years.
